When achieving the perfect gel manicure, the prep of the nail is most important. However, there’s one step that’s not far behind. That is the
Base Coat Application. A lot of times, people think that the
Base Coat should just be a quick step. Unfortunately, if that step isn’t done carefully, you may have an upset client. Without a proper
Base Coat Application your client’s nails can lift or chip
We have 4 tips to help you properly apply the Medusa
Base Coat to ensure your client’s satisfaction. Let’s make sure your clients have long lasting nail manicures without any issues!
Tip 1- Apply 2 Thin Coats
After correctly prepping your nail, apply 2 thin coats. Make sure not to put too much product on the nail, remember only a thin coat. There are multiple reasons to add aa second coat of base. The main reason is that it adds flexibility to the nail. It also helps for the color gel to adhere to the nail, creating a perfect finish overall.
Tip 2 – Cover the Entire Surface
It is extremely important to cover the entire surface edge to edge. If you miss an edge, you leave room for the nail to chip and lift. This is another reason to add a second coat. If you notice that you miss a spot on the edge, you can cover it on the second coat.
Tip 3 – Take Your Time
No matter how much of a rush you’re in, take your time. You don’t want to chance missing any steps of the process. A rushed job will definitely show and you don’t want to have unsatisfied customers. Take the time to look at the nail closely to notice if there are any spots missing the
Base Coat . We promise, it’s worth it!
Tip 4 – Cap The Free Edges
To finish a success
Base Coat Application, make sure to cap the free edges. You only need to do it once, but just make sure you do it! Caping the free edges will help to make sure the edges don’t lift. However, if the free edge is too thick, it could peel off. Again, you only need one thin layer to cap the free edges.
Hopefully these tips help you properly apply the
Base Coat and essentially perfect a gel manicure!
